Cars I own as Founder of Autofolio, why I bought them, and the stories behind them. At 21 years old.

1. 2000 Ford Racing Puma (Nov 2022 - now) - £14,050 + fees

2. 2009 Land Rover Defender (Jan 2022 - now) - £21,000

3. 2003 Porsche Boxster 986 Boxster S (Nov 2023 - now) - £9,000

In this article, I am going to tell you a little bit more about the cars I own, the stories behind them, and why they are important to me.

1. 2000 Ford Racing Puma

I bought the car in November 2022 after winning the auction to buy a car on Collecting Cars. The Racing Puma was always a dream car for me after owning 2 1.7 Lux Pumas.  Given the rarity of the car (1 of 500) and the pedigree that it carries, being hand-built by Tickford. I fell in love with the blue Alcantara interior of the car combined with the coupe package, which makes the car truly unique.

2. 2009 Land Rover Defender

I bought the Land Rover Defender from the first owner of the car. The car is finished in Galway Green, a colour that was only available for limited time on the Defender. I have lots of great memories with the car, one was driving the car over 100,000 miles.

3. Porsche (986) Boxster S

This is my first Porsche. I bought the car in November 2023 from an airplane engineer. The purchase was somewhat inspired by my dad, who had previously owned two 986 Boxsters when they were new in the early 2000s. This particular Boxster was the one for me due to the spec. The car is finished in a very similar shade of green to the Defender. Also, the dark green is on brand with Autofolio.

Moral of the story: Investment cars don’t need to be Ferrari F40s or Porsche Carrera GTs. Investment cars can be both used and enjoyed. There are numerous benefits to owning investment cars beyond merely financial returns.
